Within Network Operations, we are building a smart, lean, and high‑performing organization to operate, run and scale our high‑power EV charging network. As a Repair Specialist you will be responsible for analysis and repair of defective components as well as supporting production processes for dedicated parts and consumables in IONITY’s Repair Workshop. You will play a key role in providing well‑documented analysis of defects and individual root‑cause analysis. In parallel you will ensure a stable spare‑part supply for specific parts and components and elaborate ways to repair defects to be shared with teams throughout Europe as well as with suppliers of IONITY.
Your mission
With a strong can‑do attitude and willingness to collaborate across different teams and departments, you will help find ways out of situations with limited availability of parts and methods to fix issues right away, reducing consumption of parts overall and safeguarding IONITY’s uptime targets.
- Perform diagnostics, repairs, and functional testing of EV charging stations and spare parts.
- Dismantle defective chargers and ensure spare part harvesting.
- Analyze root causes of failures and implement corrective actions.
- Execute firmware and software updates on repaired equipment.
- Perform quality assurance checks to ensure compliance with technical specifications and safety standards.
- Manage incoming defective parts and coordinate with field service engineers for failure reporting.
- Monitor and manage inventory levels within the repair workshop, ensuring accuracy and availability of components.
- Perform regular and annual stock counts, maintaining up-to-date documentation in inventory management systems.
- Track and report the status of all defective or repaired units.
- Accurately report all material movements and repair activities in the ERP system (SAP).
- Assist in the development and documentation of repair procedures, workflows, and safety protocols.
- Participate in or lead small‑scale improvement projects within the department.
- Collaborate with engineering and field service teams to enhance overall service quality.
Your profile
- Technical degree or qualification as electrician.
- 2–3 years of professional experience in a similar role, preferably in EV charging systems, industrial electronics, or automation.
- Solid understanding of power electronics and low‑voltage systems.
- Experience with diagnostic tools, oscilloscopes, multimeters, and software flashing tools.
- Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Microsoft Dynamics) is a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Outlook, Word).
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, being able to think outside the box and oriented toward solutions rather than regulatory compliance alone.
- Highly organized, structured, self‑driven, and able to work independently.
- Effective communicator with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- Fluent in English (spoken and written).
