Job Overview

Research Assistant / Doctoral Student in applied Biotechnology or Chemistry (m/f/d) at the Technische Universität München (TUM). The position is part of the SuReMo research project on the Development of sustainable cosmetic formulations based on biopolymers (exopolysaccharides) at the Straubing Campus for Biotechnology and Sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

Development of sustainable cosmetic products to replace polyacrylate in cosmetic formulations in cooperation with an industry partner.
Implementation and validation of novel rheological methods.
Application-oriented characterization of exopolysaccharides and their respective formulations.
Development of a screening platform for cosmetic formulations.
Data analysis by Design of Experiments (DoE) and other statistical tools.

Candidate Profile

Successfully completed graduate university studies with above-average performance in the fields of biotechnology, bioprocess engineering, life sciences or related fields.
Strong hands‑on experience in microbiological and biotechnological laboratories.
Curiosity and interest in scientific issues.
Interest or experience in rheology of liquids is a plus.
Highly committed, with excellent teamwork and communication skills.

Employment Details

Salary according to TV‑L, E 13, part‑time (65 %). The employment is limited to 3 years.
