Research Associate for the Project “Neural correlates of visual perceptual learning” § 28 Subsection 3 HmbHG

Responsibilities

In the period from until duties include academic services in the project named above.

In the period from until duties primarily include research.

Research associates may also pursue independent research and further academic qualifications. They may also pursue doctoral studies outside of working duties.

The position is funded by the Hector Fellow Academy (HFA, first two years) and the University of Hamburg (third year). The PhD project will address plasticity of the visual neural system in humans in the context of visual perceptual learning, both in healthy and visually impaired individuals.

Profile

A university degree in a relevant field. The candidate is expected to have a university degree with a very good final grade in Psychology, Cognitive Neuroscience, Cognitive Science, or a related field.

The successful candidate has a background in behavioral and neuroscience studies in humans.

We are expecting an extensive background in experimental psychology, familiarity with at least one neuroscience method, very high English proficiency, a thorough education in statistics, and good programming skills.

Experience with research in children or in special groups is advantageous.

We are looking for a candidate who enjoys working as part of a team in our lab and office space, both in Germany and India.
