2 positions Research fellow (m/f/d) in the field of Farm Management with expected 65 % part-time employment – E 13 TV-L HU (third‑party funding limited until )

Responsibilities

Scientific service in research in the DFG project “Investigating the importance of cognitive abilities for the financial inclusion of households in Kenya”; the project involves the empirical analysis of the relationship between the cognitive abilities of households and their access to and use of formal financial services
Planning and coordination of data collection
Development of questionnaires and experimental designs
Data analysis and evaluation as well as publication of results in scientific journals and policy briefs
Presentation of research results at international conferences
International research in the fields of rural development, (digital) microfinance and microinsurance at the interface of agricultural and development economics with a special focus on sub‑Saharan Africa
Tasks for personal scientific qualification (doctorate)

Qualifications

Completed scientific university education in agricultural economics, forestry economics, econometrics, statistics or economics or comparable disciplines with good or very good grades
Strong interest in experimental economics and the application of innovative statistical/econometric methods
Research experience in countries of the Global South, preferably Kenya
Very good written and spoken English and German (at least B2)
High degree of independence, commitment, flexibility, resilience and ability to work in a team
