The Faculty of Mathematics has the following job opening:

Research Position (m/f/d) (PhD) ID: Wiss26052 starting: as soon as possible; part-time 75 %; salary according to Remuneration level 13 TV-L; fixed-term.

Your Tasks

• research tasks in Geometric Group Theory and Building Theory (65 %)
• teaching to the extent of 3 hours per week (25 %)
• contribution to academic self-administration (10 %)

• fixed-term (2 years) (§ 2 (1) 1 of the WissZeitVG; in accordance with the provisions of the WissZeitVG and the Agreement on Satisfactory Conditions of Employment, the length of contract may differ in individual cases)

Your Profile

• completed relevant scientific university degree (Master's, Diploma or equivalent) in mathematics
• very good written and spoken English
• the ability to communicate mathematics clearly

Preferred experience and skills

• research experience in group theory, geometry, topology, or the theory of buildings
• persistence, creativity and imagination
