Ihre Aufgaben

Your research focus will be directed toward the field of data management in the era of AI, with a particular emphasis on data privacy, security, and utility trade-offs. Instead of solely analyzing event data for process optimization, your work will center on the design of frameworks, methods, and tools that enable organizations to leverage data‑driven services in a privacy‑preserving and GDPR‑compliant way. Concrete application areas include, for example, privacy‑aware data analysis and differential private data generation. We seek highly motivated candidates (m/f/d) who pursue their research independently and proactively. Your work will contribute directly to both industry‑driven projects and our chair's funded research initiatives. You are expected to present and publish your findings at leading international conferences and journals in information systems and computer science. Opportunities for research stays with global partners can be arranged in line with project needs. In addition, you will contribute to the chair’s teaching activities (course design and implementation) and support administrative tasks.

Ihr Profil

Notwendige Qualifikationen

• You have a university degree (Master or equivalent) in Information Systems, Computer Science or a related discipline with a grade point average of at least "good", and you are looking for a Ph.D. position
• You have a genuine interest (or experience) in Data Science, Data Privacy, or IT Security.
• You have knowledge about the application of design science‑oriented, qualitative, or quantitative research methods
• You are interested in working together with partners from industry and academia to solve real-world problems
• You have excellent communication skills in English and ideally also German
• You have a distinctive team spirit and a confident presence
• You have (first) experience in a programming language like Java, Python, or similar
