We’re looking for a forward-thinking Safety Engineer - ePT and Batteries to join our R&D team. As a Safety Assurance Engineer for ePowertrain Systems and Battery Packs, you will be integral in ensuring that Eleo’s electrification solutions meet the highest safety standards. You will develop and implement comprehensive safety protocols and perform thorough assessments to guarantee system reliability and regulatory compliance. Working with a global team in Japan and the Netherlands, you\'ll guide the integration of advanced technologies, with a focus on both ePowertrain systems and the critical safety aspects of battery pack management. Your role will be essential in establishing Eleo as a leader in safe and efficient off-highway electrification.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Safety Protocol Development: Design and implement safety protocols for ePowertrain systems and battery packs, ensuring robust safety measures.
  • Create safety approval process in PDM ensuring compliance with functional safety norms and targets.
  • Carry out error analyses (FMEA, FMEDA, and FTA).
  • Derive and coordinate safety concepts for Battery Management System (BMS).
  • Risk Assessment & Mitigation: Perform detailed risk assessments to identify potential safety issues and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of safety evaluations, test results, and compliance measures.
  • Continuous Improvement: Seek improvements in safety processes and stay informed on safety technologies for electrified systems.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Safety Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in safety assurance roles for ePowertrain systems and battery management applications.
  • Knowledge of functional safety standards (ISO 26262, ISO 13849, IEC 61508).
  • Proficiency in English (written and spoken); German or Japanese is an advantage.
  • Strong understanding of safety standards and regulations relevant to battery technologies.
  • Experience in an international, cross-functional project environment.
  • Familiarity with cutting-edge safety technologies and methodologies for electric powertrains and battery systems.
  • Affinity for innovation and continuous improvement in safety practices.
