Currently, around 4,000 employees are working at CARIAD on the digital transformation of the car. CARIAD is working intensively on the software and technology platform for Premium Platform Electric (PPE). The first vehicles based on PPE will be the electric Porsche Macan and Audi Q6 e-tron. At the core of CARIAD is the development of the unified and scalable software and technology platform E³ 2.0 for all Group brands. E³ stands for ‘end to end electronics architecture’. The new software and technology platform is built from scratch and will be used first at the end of 2024 in Artemis, the lighthouse project of Audi. As of 2026, E³ 2.0 is due to be scaled by the Volkswagen brand with Trinity in the volume segment.

About our Group

CARIAD COE (Centre of Excellence) is setup in Bangalore, India working exclusively with CARIAD and associated VW groups with the focus on development of ‘VW.OS”. The areas of work involve development of platform components such as firmware, boot loaders, AUTOSAR, Linux/QNX BSP, Service oriented architecture-based middleware components.

Job Description: Confirmation Measures Engineer (Audit & Assessment)

The Confirmation Measures Engineer is responsible for conducting functional safety audits and assessments to ensure compliance with ISO 26262. This role combines the responsibilities of both auditor and assessor, focusing on planning, execution, documentation, and follow-up of safety-related evaluations across domains.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform tool classification according to ISO 26262 Part 8, Clause 11.
• Define and execute tool qualification strategies for safety-relevant tools.
• Support development teams in identifying and documenting tool usage scenarios.
• Conduct impact analysis and risk assessments for tool errors and failures.
• Prepare and maintain tool qualification plans and perform the tool qualification test
• Create the tool classification & qualification reports, and evidence
• Coordinate with tool vendors and internal stakeholders for tool validation activities.
• Ensure traceability and compliance of tool-related safety artefacts.
• Support audits and assessments related to tool qualification.
• Contribute to safety case development with tool qualification inputs.
• Maintain knowledge of industry standards and best practices in tool validation.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• Strong understanding of ISO 26262 and automotive safety standards.
• Tool qualification as per ISO26262 of test automation/code generation tools based on python, compilers, linkers, build toolchain.
• At least 1-2 tool qualification experience which are used for ASILB/D.
• Perform HAZOP for tools.
• Determine Tool confidence level (TCL)
• Perform review of Tool development process.
• Identify potential limitations and errors introduced by tools and ways to mitigate them.
• Experience with tool qualification and validation in safety-critical environments.
• Familiarity with software development tools (e.g., compilers, code generators, static analyzers)
• Familiarity with Systems development tools (e.g preevision, system modeling tools)
• Knowledge of safety analysis techniques (e.g., FMEA, FTA, DFA & HARA).
• Excellent documentation and communication skills.
• Experience with ASPICE and safety process frameworks is a plus.
• Ability to work cross-functionally in a collaborative environment.
