Overview
A sales executive is responsible for generating new business, managing client relationships and driving revenue by promoting and selling a company's products or services.
Responsibilities
- Identify and pursue new sales opportunities through research, cold calling, networking and online outreach.
- Present and demonstrate products or services to potential customers, handle questions and objections, and highlight the value proposition.
- Negotiate pricing and terms, prepare proposals or quotations, and close deals to meet or exceed assigned sales targets.
Client management and reporting
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with clients by providing after-sales support, gathering feedback and exploring upsell or cross-sell opportunities.
- Keep accurate records of leads, interactions and deals in CRM tools and regularly update sales reports and forecasts for management.
- Collaborate with marketing, product and operations teams to align messaging, resolve issues and improve customer satisfaction.
Qualifications :
Skills and requirements
- Strong communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills with a persuasive yet customer-focused approach.
- Comfort with using CRM software, email and presentation tools, along with basic data skills to track performance and pipeline metrics.
- Typically requires at least a high school diploma or bachelor’s degree plus prior experience in sales or customer-facing roles depending on seniority.
