About the Role

This role leads the European commercial activities of my clients expansion, primary responsible for the Beverage Flavor segment and secondary responsibility for Confectionery Flavors. The position holder expands the customer base within Europe, strengthens strategic relationships with beverage manufacturers, and supports the combined companies’ growth strategy. A key objective is to expand EU sales for my client's beverage flavors and other range of natural and organic flavors where there are business opportunities. This will require close collaboration with US Global Sales account representatives, US Product Beverage Applications, U.S. Marketing, and Consumer Insights to ensure the goal of achieving a global beverage flavor platform. The goal is to have a smooth transfer of technology, insights, and beverage application capabilities into the EU region to support new flavor revenues in the region for my client. In addition, the Sales Director can help support commercial efforts of my clients subsidiary in the Confectionery business and new business development when needed.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the EU commercial strategy for beverage flavors; support confectionery flavors as secondary category.
  • Expand my clients flavor footprint in the EU, leveraging pre-existing customer relationships.
  • Maintain and grow relationships with major and mid-sized European beverage companies.
  • Collaborate closely with U.S. Product Development, U.S. Applications, U.S. Marketing, and Consumer Insights teams.
  • Serve as commercial liaison to the newly recruited European Beverage Applications team.
  • Support technical evaluations, sensory, and customer-facing prototype reviews.
  • Manage the full European commercial pipeline; ensure monthly forecasting accuracy.
  • Ensure pricing strategy, margin discipline, and customer profitability monitoring.
  • Develop commercial pricing strategies for products, customer groups, or market segments.
  • Manage and develop agents and distributors across Europe.
  • Represent my client at trade fairs, customer events, and technical workshops.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Direct selling of my clients beverage and confectionery flavor portfolio.
  • Identification of new customers and innovation-driven opportunities.
  • Participation in strategic reviews with management.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience in Beverage flavor sales in Europe.
  • Strong network of relationships with existing beverage businesses in Germany and or EU market.
  • Food Technologist, Food Scientist or Beverage Application background is a benefit.

The position holder must also perform individual tasks related to the area of responsibility or arising from operational necessity.
