Sales Director / Leader – Public Sector Germany - SaaS

We are hiring a Sales Director to lead a high‑performing regional sales team (8–12 Account Executives) focused on state‑level and municipal public administration. This individual will play a central role in accelerating digital modernization across Germany’s public sector through large‑scale, enterprise SaaS solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and scale a team of Enterprise Account Executives driving platform‑led transformation programs with state administrations, municipalities, and public entities
- Define and execute a regional sales strategy aligned to public‑sector priorities, framework agreements, procurement pathways, and fiscal cycles
- Own executive stakeholder engagement across political, operational, and IT governance levels
- Orchestrate cross‑functional resources (presales, delivery, partner ecosystem) to ensure value realization and long‑term customer success
- Drive accurate forecasting and pipeline management, with rigorous focus on growth and predictability
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and innovation within the team
Candidate Profile
- Proven track record leading enterprise SaaS sales teams within the German public sector
- Deep understanding of public administration structures, digital transformation programs, decision‑making, and procurement models (e.g., EVB‑IT, framework agreements)
- Experience selling complex, multi‑stakeholder platform solutions into state governments and/or municipalities
- Strong network and established relationships across public‑sector buying centres in Germany
- Strategic leadership capability combined with hands‑on execution and operational excellence
- Business fluent German and English required
Experience likely gained within
Leading enterprise software and cloud vendors such as: Salesforce, Microsoft, Oracle, SAP, ServiceNow, Google Cloud, Adobe , or comparable high‑growth technology companies delivering platform‑driven transformation in public services.
