What to Expect

Tesla is seeking a driven and talented Sales Engineer to join our Energy team in Hamburg. In this role you'll act as the technical battery energy storage expert and play a key role in driving business growth for our cutting‑edge Megapack and other industrial storage solutions for the EMEA region. You'll collaborate closely with our sales team to help customers find the best commercial and technical fit for our innovative battery systems. Tesla’s Megapack is an industry‑leading battery energy storage system that supports many grid‑scale applications. By strengthening our energy infrastructure with Megapack, we create a cleaner and more stable grid. What You’ll Do

• Partner with the sales team to identify customer needs and deliver tailored technical battery energy storage solutions
• Translate customer requirements into detailed project scopes and technical documentation
• Provide technical input and advise during contract negotiations
• Stay up to date on product developments, industry trends, and competitor offerings
• Serve as a trusted technical advisor throughout the sales cycle
• Identify and evaluate new market segments for business growth
• Monitor changes in tariffs and market regulations, and update financial and market models to ensure they reflect the latest data and support accurate decision‑making
• Oversee preliminary design activities for the project, ensuring engineering standards, quality control, and code compliance

What You’ll Bring

• 3+ years of experience in an engineering role within the renewable energy sector (e.g., consulting, sales engineering, or project engineering)
• Strong electrical engineering background and knowledge of battery energy storage systems, power conversion and grid systems
• Experienced with reviewing contracts and technical scopes of work
• Ability to identify problems and provide pragmatic solutions
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships with colleagues and customers
• Strong working knowledge of MS Office tools. Knowledge of AutoCAD is considered a plus
• Fluency in English and German
