We are looking for an experienced Sales Engineering Water- and Wastewater Treatment for the 2 key regions Germany North (Berlin) and Germany South (Düsseldorf).

ARTAS contracts:

  • Water: Potable and domestic-industrial process water production
  • Waste: Domestic-industrial waste water (and sludge) treatment, recycling
  • Air: Flue gas treatment and desulphurisation
  • Bioenergy: Biogas generation from organic wastes and conversion to electricity/steam

Position Description

For our ARTAS DACH team, we are seeking an experienced Sales Engineer with a proven track record in water and wastewater treatment. You will maintain our existing customer base while actively pursuing new business opportunities. The ideal candidate is results-driven, customer-centric, and comfortable pursuing opportunities assertively while upholding the highest professional standards. A hands-on mentality and a strong sense of ownership are essential.

Your customers operate across diverse sectors, including power plant system suppliers, engineering offices, and municipal wastewater facilities.

You will be responsible for expanding our customer base across Germany and beyond, driving technical sales cycles, and ensuring successful project delivery from initial qualification to post-installation support. A willingness to travel 3-4 days per week on customer sites is required. The reporting line is directly to the General Manager/ Debuty MD.


Key Responsibilities
  • Identify, pursue, and close new business opportunities in municipal and industrial water and wastewater treatment markets.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive account plans, including target selection, value proposition, competitive differentiation, and long-term relationship building.
  • Conduct technical needs assessments, provide solution designs, and translate customer requirements into compelling proposals and quotes.
  • Deliver engaging, technically sound presentations and demonstrations to customers, consultants, and decision-makers.
  • Collaborate with engineering, project management, and service teams to ensure accurate scoping, budgeting, and on-time delivery.
  • Lead technical due diligence, risk assessment, and compliance considerations (permits, standards, and regulations).
  • Maintain a robust sales funnel with accurate forecasting and timely reporting.
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and customer workshops.
  • Travel 60–80% as required (3–4 days per week on customer sites), with regional and international travel as needed.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Environmental Engineering, or a related field; relevant certifications in water/wastewater are a plus.
  • Proven sales experience in water and wastewater treatment, with a track record of winning new business.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills; fluency in English is preferred (German as a close working language is essential).
  • Self-motivated, autonomous, with a high degree of ownership and accountability.
  • Willingness to travel and to be on customer sites regularly (3–4 days per week).
