A global manufacturer delivering complex high‑voltage transmission systems is entering a critical European growth phase, driven by unprecedented investment in grid reinforcement and offshore wind infrastructure. With decades of experience supporting large‑scale energy projects worldwide and multibillion‑euro global revenues, the business is expanding its regional footprint and system‑delivery capability.

Germany sits at the centre of this strategy, supported by strong recent growth, a reinforced European organisational platform, and the development of a new manufacturing plant. The company is positioning itself as a long‑term partner for utilities, grid operators, and EPC contractors across both onshore and offshore transmission.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a Sales Manager to lead commercial and business development activities across Germany’s transmission and offshore wind markets. This is a senior, highly visible position with genuine influence over strategy and outcomes—and a clearly defined opportunity to progress into a Commercial / Sales Director role within approximately two to three years, aligned to continued market growth and individual performance.

This role blends the credibility and scale of a global OEM with the autonomy and pace of a fast‑growing European operation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead major, high‑value commercial opportunities across onshore and offshore transmission and distribution systems
  • Drive OEM and EPC engagement with TSOs, utilities, offshore wind developers, and EPC contractors
  • Own complex, long‑cycle tendering processes for large infrastructure and offshore energy projects
  • Define and execute the commercial strategy for the German market, including positioning, pricing, and customer prioritisation
  • Build long‑term strategic relationships with senior stakeholders across the energy value chain
  • Work closely with Engineering, Project Management, Manufacturing, and global commercial teams to deliver competitive, differentiated proposals

Why This Role Matters

Germany is one of Europe’s most strategically important transmission markets, with major HVDC and HVAC programmes underpinning grid expansion and offshore wind integration. This role sits at the centre of those programmes, with direct responsibility for shaping market engagement and securing multi‑million‑euro projects. The region already accounts for almost 20% of annual turnover and provides excellent visibility across the group.

You will have real ownership, executive visibility, and the mandate to influence long‑term commercial direction.

This position is designed as a direct feeder into Director level . As the organisation continues to expand its European footprint and system capability, strong performance in this role will lead to broader leadership responsibility and progression into a Director position within c. two years .

Candidate Profile

  • 6+ years’ experience in commercial, sales, or business development roles within transmission & distribution, grid infrastructure, or offshore wind
  • Experience operating within OEM and/or EPC project environments
  • A strong track record managing complex, multi‑stakeholder tenders
  • An established network across TSOs, utilities, EPC contractors, and developers in Germany
  • Strong commercial judgement, negotiation capability, and strategic insight
  • Fluency in German and English
