Overview

Sanctions Compliance Manager (all genders)

Join JPMorgan Chase as an International Consumer Banking Sanctions Officer – Vice President within the EMEA Sanctions Compliance team. You will play a crucial role in ensuring adherence to the firm\'s global sanctions processes, with independent decision-making in assessing client sanctions risk within consumer banking. The role requires adapting to a rapidly evolving business and regulatory environment.

Responsibilities

  • Review and assess sanctions risks under EU, OFAC and other EMEA sanctions programs in the context of Chase retail business. Ensure risk is mitigated, documented and addressed, partnering with relevant stakeholders within the business, Global Financial Crimes Compliance (GFCC), Line of Business Sanctions Officers and GSC.
  • Review sanctions-related events such as blocked or rejected transactions, license-permissible activity, voluntary self-disclosures, sanctions-related enforcement actions or significant negative media.
  • Support the business, GSC and GFCC in reviewing new business initiatives pertaining to Chase, leading sanctions risk assessment and screening initiatives.
  • Support the business, GSC and GFCC in reviewing escalations to internal senior committees ensuring sanctions risks are appropriately presented.
  • Escalate significant sanctions risks to the EMEA Sanctions management team, In-Country Compliance Officers, Line of Business Sanctions Officers, GSC and GFC Legal as required.
  • Continually maintain and develop a strong working knowledge of EU, OFAC and other EMEA sanctions programs to provide guidance to colleagues in sales, product development, operations and technology teams across multiple lines of business on sanctions-related issues impacting their products and clients.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills

  • Risk assessment skills and the ability to make sound decisions on sanction risk.
  • Relevant experience in Compliance activities, particularly AML/Sanctions.
  • Quality-focused work ethic with strong controls mindset; understanding regulatory requirements and adhering to appropriate controls including sanctions screening.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with people at all levels.
  • Analytical mind with problem management skills and clear verbal and written communication.
  • Strong German and English language skills.
  • Self-starter with strong presentation and organizational skills; ability to work independently under pressure and to tight deadlines, with escalation as needed.
  • Degree level education (or equivalent) or direct relevant work experience.

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities And Skills

  • Digital banking experience.
  • Knowledge of Consumer Banking, and preferred knowledge of Payments and Correspondent banking.
  • Self-starter with strong presentation and organizational skills; ability to work independently under pressure and to tight deadlines, with escalation as appropriate.

They provide input on new business strategies, product lines, policies, training, operational processes, risk mitigation and control.
