Your Role

The Senior SAP S/4HANA SD Consultant with Advanced Variant Configuration (AVC) is responsible for designing, configuring, and delivering highly complex Order‑to‑Cash (OTC) solutions requiring advanced product configuration logic. This role involves end‑to‑end solution design for sales processes, pricing, ATP/aATP, BOM, Routing and AVC modelling. The consultant works closely with business teams, architects, engineering, and manufacturing to support highly configurable products across global markets.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the AVC Stream and conduct workshops with Product Management, Sales, Engineering, and Manufacturing teams.
• Design complete AVC models including:
• Characteristics, classes, constraints, dependencies
• Configuration profiles
• Pricing variant logic (variant‑based pricing, dependency‑based pricing)
• BOM & routing integration
• Configuration simulation & testing
• Handle migration of configurable materials and AVC master data.
• Convert or optimize legacy ECC LO VC models to S/4 Advanced Variant Configuration.
• Collaborate with PP/PP DS and engineering teams on:
• Super BOMs / Super Routings
• AVC integration with production planning
• Material variants & KMAT setup
• Mixed‑mode manufacturing requirements
• Design configuration logic aligned with engineering rules and product structure.
• Cross‑Module Integration
• MM (procurement, stock)
• PP (production, BOM, routing)
• FI/CO (billing, revenue)
• EWM (warehouse execution)
• aATP (availability check)
• Support integration with CPQ tools & product configurators (if applicable).
• Prepare documentation: BPML, solution design docs, configuration docs, test scripts.
• Conduct SIT, UAT, cutover, go‑live, and hyper care.
• Provide AVC and SD process training to business users.
• Drive change management and ensure process adoption across business teams.
• Recommend continuous improvement opportunities in configuration logic, pricing, and sales operations.
• Optimize performance of configuration models.

Skills

• Must have hands‑on experience in LO VC and S/4HANA AVC with at least 2‑3 implementations.
• Advanced Variant Configuration expertise in:
• Dependencies: Procedures, Constraints, Precondition, Selection Conditions
• Variant Tables & Functions
• Object Dependencies in AVC
• AVC modeling using Fiori apps
• AVC runtime and simulation
• Experience with BAdIs, user exits, and APIs related to SD & AVC.
• Experience in industries with complex configurable products such as Automotive, Industrial Machinery, High‑Tech, Engineering, Aerospace, Consumer Durables.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement.
• Strong analytical thinking with the ability to simplify complex configuration logic.
• Leadership skills to guide cross‑functional teams and junior consultants.
• Experience working with global, multi‑location teams.
• SAP Certification in S/4HANA Sales or Variant Configuration.
• Experience with CPQ tools (like SAP CPQ).
• Background in Engineering or Manufacturing (added advantage).
