Position Summary

The position includes primarily field work with on demand presence at the office in Darmstadt for report writing, preparation, project handling, participation in meetings and training, etc. The territory to be covered shall consist primarily of Germany and adjoining European countries but may on occasions involve worldwide assignments.

Responsibilities

Field surveys to conduct property loss control surveys to evaluate the property and business interruption exposures at client facilities based on NFPA standards and others as appropriate.
Develop recommendations based on standards, including loss estimates before and after completion of the recommendations.
Evaluate automatic fire protection and water supply systems.
Report and evaluate building construction, occupancy, special and natural hazards.
Develop loss estimates based on scenarios such as the Maximum Foreseeable Loss.
Provide training and peer review for other consultants; serve as a technical resource to other consultants.
Provide services to clients including training, manual and program development, and code or regulatory interpretation.
Prepare and present proposals, develop service instructions, solicit client feedback and prepare stewardship reports.
Work assignments are typically of higher technical need and involve direct contact with upper client management, including risk managers, financial managers and other decision makers.
Demonstrate professional conduct and excellent written and verbal communication skills due to direct contact with upper client management, including risk managers, financial managers and other decision makers.
Provide project management services, including special visits, plan reviews and oral/written presentations to clients.
Actively manage your work assigned in the database.

Qualifications

Valid driver\'s license for passenger cars.
Willingness to travel by air.
Solid mastery of the German and English spoken and written language.
Extensive knowledge of the relevant loss prevention guidelines (VdS/FM/NFPA/local) and willingness to undergo further training in that area.
Familiarity with reviewing and responding to communication from clients and internal communication.
Ability to carry out field work, report writing, consulting, and plan review.
Ability to review workloads and revise accordingly.
Must be able to climb ladders; lift/carry up to 50 lbs; stoop, crouch, crawl; traverse catwalks.
