Senior Accountant General Ledger & Fixed Assets (m / f / d)

We are the world market leader for reusable packaging containers (RPCs) for fresh food and are constantly optimizing our products.

We help make the food supply cycle for the population more sustainable. With our RPCs, safety for food transport is improved, there is less waste of food and at the same time the lifespan of the products increases. Through our products and the need for less packaging materials we reduce the carbon footprint.

Key responsibilities

• General Ledger Activities – Perform regular bookings, reconciliations, accruals, provisions, and monthly closing tasks.
• Fixed Assets Accounting – Handle subledger reconciliation, depreciation, settlements, and ensure accurate master data for fixed assets and assets under construction.
• Reporting – Prepare ad hoc and regular reports, including statistical reporting and monthly / yearly report packages.
• Bank & Intercompany Processes – Conduct bank account reconciliations and perform intercompany netting activities.
• Process Documentation – Maintain and improve process documentation to increase transparency and consistency.
• Onboarding & Knowledge Sharing – Support onboarding of new employees and actively share knowledge within the team.

We expect

• Educational Background – Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or an equivalent accounting qualification.
• GL & Fixed Asset Expertise – Strong experience in general ledger accounting, fixed assets, accruals, and provisions—ideally in an international environment.
• Regulatory Knowledge – Solid understanding of VAT regulations and accounting standards.
• System & Tools Skills – First experience with SAP FI and advanced MS Office skills, especially Excel and Outlook.
• Project Experience – Previous involvement in accounting-related projects.
• Communication & Mindset – Strong communication skills, proactive working style, and a cooperative mindset.
• Accuracy & Ownership – High attention to detail, accountability, and reliability.
• Language Skills – Fluent English plus one additional European language (preferably Spanish, Portuguese, French, or German).
