Senior Accountant - HGB / German GAAP

Senior GL Accountant - (HGB / German GAAP) A leading growing technology company is building up their finance and accounting function. They are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant or Accounting Lead to deliver GL and Record-to-Report Accounting for the German Group Headquarters as well as working to in-source and build up the Accounting processes according to HGB and IFRS for international entities. Working closely with key stakeholders in Finance and external Tax advisors (Steuerberater), you will in-source core Accounting functions and establish scaleable processes and systems for accounting, including supporting the evaluation and selection of accounting systems and automation! Your role:Financial Accounting according to German GAAP / HGB for R2R / General Ledger areasPreparing Financial Accounts according to HGB/German GAAP and support with preparation of accounts in IFRS for other entity locationsDelivering month end / Year end close activitiesSupporting financial audit and working with Auditors in German and EnglishLiaising with German Steuerberater (Tax Accountants) and Audit teams in local languageHelp maintain, establish and improve core Accounting processes for GL and R2R areasSupport processes across AP, AR, Bank Reconciliations and other areasRecording transactions, posting journals, reconciling accounts acrossGeneral Ledger Accounting, reconciliation and data cleansingWork on projects to improve and automate accounting processes, e.g. supporting the selection and implementation of new financial systems Your experience:Senior Accountant with 3+ years' experienceStrong knowledge of Accounting standards and daily/monthly/yearly accounting according to German GAAP / HGBExperience setting up and improving Accounting and Finance processesExperience with Financial Systems and Accounting automation highly desirable!Fluent German and English Location: Remote, GermanyType: Permanent role An excellent opportunity for an experienced Accountant to take on the next challenge with an exciting technology scale-up company!
