Senior AI Solution Architect (m/w/d)

Join Materna as a Senior AI Solution Architect and design end‑to‑end AI architectures for the public sector. You will lead the analysis of requirements, develop scalable AI solutions, and ensure integration into existing IT landscapes while maintaining data protection, security and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Lead the analysis of functional and technical requirements and develop robust solution concepts and roadmaps.
• Design AI solutions, including complex AI‑agent based systems, respecting data protection, IT security and regulatory requirements.
• Integrate AI solutions into existing IT landscapes and public‑sector processes.
• Develop architecture concepts, integration and operating models for On‑Premise, Cloud or hybrid environments.
• Collaborate closely with project management, data scientists, AI engineers, software development and customer business units.
• Act as architecture lead during implementations, quality assurance and reviews of pipelines, APIs and infrastructure concepts up to production.
• Advise customers on market‑relevant trend and future topics and co‑develop solution concepts with technology partners for demanding projects.

Qualifications

• Completed studies in Computer Science, Mathematics or a comparable qualification.
• Several years of experience in the design and implementation of data‑based solutions, ideally in a public‑sector environment.
• Strong knowledge of modern AI architectures, LLM ecosystems (LangChain, vLLM, RAG pipelines, embedding models) and data‑engineering concepts.
• Good understanding of software reference architectures, API design, microservices, containerisation (Docker/Kubernetes) and MLOps/APIs processes.
• Experience with GDPR, information security and compliance requirements in the public sector.
• Very good German (C1) and good English (B2) in speaking and writing.
