Senior Analytics Engineer
role is critical for creating the robust, high-quality data foundation that drives efficiency, powers AI-driven automation, and enables data-driven decisions for our merchants and support agents. You will be the expert who builds and maintains the data engine using dbt and Snowflake, ensuring analysts, product managers, and AI systems have trusted, accessible data.

What You'll Be Doing

• You will be the dedicated data owner for the Operations Tribe, focused on transforming raw data into reliable, scalable data products.
• Own, develop, and maintain the Operations data structure (DAOPS) using expert-level SQL and dbt within Snowflake, managing over 200 data models and ensuring clear business logic.
• Manage and optimize data pipeline orchestration (e.g., Airflow), handling critical third-party ingestions (Trustpilot, NICE) and implementing resource/cost optimizations.
• Drive self-service analytics by setting up best practices for data governance, quality, and accessibility, creating documentation and marts for stakeholders.
• Implement robust data governance, focusing on PII management, access control, and quality checks to ensure report reliability.
• Provide the perfectly structured data foundation for new AI tools being developed to automate tasks and drive efficiency in Support.
• Enabling Broad Self-Service: Architecting solutions to upskill stakeholders and shift from centralized requests to decentralized, high-quality self-service data access.
• Complex Onboarding: Rapidly mastering a large, fully-built data infrastructure with over 200 models and understanding the deep business logic behind every transformation.

You'll Be Great for This Position If You Have

• 3-5+ years of Analytics Engineering or Data Engineering experience.
• Expert-level SQL skills for complex transformations and optimization.
• Strong hands-on experience with dbt for building production data models.
• Solid experience with Snowflake (or comparable DWH) and pipeline orchestration (Airflow or similar).
• A track record of working on integrations involving APIs, various data sources, and robust ETL/ELT processes.
• Strong documentation skills and a passion for enabling self-service analytics.
• A true team player attitude who thrives on cross-functional collaboration.
• Self-drive, proactiveness, and high adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
• Commitment to data governance, quality, and ownership.
• A passion for AI Technology, excited to power SumUp's next generation of automated support tools.
