Senior Applications Engineering Manager (m/f/d)

The Application Engineering Manager is responsible for leading the application engineering team to support global business development, sales teams and customers in technical applications of Portfolio Business Unit market segments. The individual in this role will oversee the daily activities of Application Engineers, who review customers’ technical needs and recommend solutions, and inspire a culture of innovation towards new solutions for customers’ challenges.

IN THIS ROLE, YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE :

• Recruiting, developing, and Mentoring talent, including development engineers and applications engineers with unique expertise spanning multiple target industries and geographies.
• Build and maintain the team’s overall expertise in NI T&M products and their applications.
• Collaborate with Business Managers, Marketing / Sales and R&D teams to align the team's execution to growth strategy and short-term business needs.
• Engage with sales to drive mutual understanding and prioritization of efforts to achieve shared business goals.
• Manage ambiguity and drive change management as business strategy evolves.
• Drive engineering execution excellence.

FOR THIS ROLE, YOU WILL NEED :

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering
• 10+ years of experience in Engineering
• 5+ years of team or project management experience
• Wireless communication systems or general RF knowledge
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Demonstrated ability to lead remote teams.
• Willingness to travel (up to 50%), both domestic and international

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS THAT SET YOU APART :

• 5+ years’ experience managing an engineering, application, or technical sales team
• General test and measurement knowledge, as well as LabVIEW programming skills a plus
• Collaborative mindset and ability to influence across departments.
• Strong coaching and mentoring abilities.
