Senior Backend Developer (m/f/d) - Peter Park System

Position Overview

Senior Backend Engineer responsible for shaping, building, and scaling the core backend systems of our digital parking platform.

Responsibilities

• Architect and enhance the core backend services that power B2B and B2C parking solutions.
• Improve and automate CI/CD pipelines for both backend and IoT systems, ensuring a seamless, fully automated workflow.
• Enhance monitoring with Datadog, providing deeper insight and proactive health checks.
• Scale systems to efficiently manage thousands of parking lots.
• Champion engineering excellence by advocating modern practices, clean code, and robust testing.

Qualifications

• Deep expertise in one or more languages (Typescript, Javascript, Python, C++) and a proven ability to adapt to new tools quickly.
• Strong production track record with high‑throughput, mission‑critical projects.
• Proficiency with modern backend frameworks such as NestJS, Flask, Fastify, or FastAPI.
• Excellent written and spoken English (C1 level). German is not required.
• Demonstrated ownership and a focus on continuous improvement.

Technologies

• Backend: Python, Node.js (NestJS), TypeScript, BullMQ, Prisma.
• Frontend: Vue.js, Turbo, pnpm, Storybook (monorepo).
• Databases: Amazon RDS, DynamoDB, S3.
• Orchestration & CI/CD: Kubernetes (EKS), Keda, Karpenter, GitLab.
• Infrastructure as Code: Terraform.
• Serverless: AWS Lambda and Serverless framework.

Work Setup

• Hours: 40 hours per week (trust‑based).
• Hybrid model: 3 days in Munich office, 2 days remote.
• Permanent contract.
• Location: Munich, Bavaria.
