Senior Backend Engineer – Core Systems

Join our Core Systems domain as a Senior Backend Engineer on the Product Factory team. You’ll design and build high-performance, high-throughput, and highly configurable platforms that power our financial infrastructure. Your work will enable self-service configuration of core banking products such as spanning product definition, bookkeeping, account lifecycle, and regulatory reporting. These foundational platforms are essential for the entire organization, allowing teams across the company to quickly and reliably release innovative products to our customers.

This is a hybrid role from our offices in either Berlin or Barcelona.

In This Role

• Collaborate closely with your Tech Lead on architecting new features and seeing them through to completion.
• Design, develop, test, deploy and maintain software in a thriving environment.
• Have opportunities to mentor junior members in the team by guarding code quality through pull requests and helping them when they have questions.
• Stay up to date with the latest trends in technology and propose findings during our Get Stuff Done Days.
• Work within your cross-functional team to uphold the highest technical standards.

What You Need To Be Successful

• Experience in developing software using a JVM language and Spring Boot in large-scale production systems; experience with Kotlin is a plus.
• Sound understanding of microservice architecture.
• Knowledge of relational and non-relational databases, preferably Postgres.
• Appreciation of working in a modern cloud architecture, preferably with AWS.
