Senior Backend Engineer - Golang Vilnius, Lithuania

As a Senior Backend Engineer in our Vilnius office , you will join a team responsible for evolving and maintaining our high-throughput banking ecosystem for merchants. You’ll play a key role in architecting and evolving our global banking platform, ensuring high availability, scalability, and observability across multiple regions. What You’ll Do

1. Collaborate with a global team to design and build a unified global banking platform, including high-level APIs for multiple regions and local implementations, ensuring high availability and observability.
2. Participate in transforming monolithic services into decoupled, highly scalable, region-agnostic, unified global bank services.
3. Design, implement, and iteratively develop highly available backend services, continuously evaluating and adopting new methods to ensure the reliability of transfer systems.
4. Maintain and improve core services utilizing a modern, cloud-native stack (AWS, K8s), with microservices written in Golang, Kotlin, Java, and Elixir.
5. Enhance test coverage for existing services and oversee end-to-end delivery, including testing, observability, and monitoring.
6. Shape and improve our engineering culture by sharing ideas, refining best practices, exploring innovative solutions, and contributing to documentation and tool selection.

You’ll be great for this role if

1. You have solid programming experience in Golang and an interest in working with Java, Kotlin, and Elixir.
2. You have an advanced understanding of developing and maintaining distributed and event-driven systems.
3. You are experienced with event streaming platforms and messaging brokers such as Kafka.
4. You have experience with modern cloud technologies like AWS, and containerization tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
5. You are comfortable working with SQL and NoSQL databases.
6. You have experience with CI/CD tools like GitHub Actions or ArgoCD.
7. You take pride in your work, have a strong sense of ownership, and are committed to writing clear, maintainable, and testable code.
8. You are curious and enthusiastic about solving meaningful challenges for users, with a commitment to collaboration and continuous learning.
9. You are comfortable pairing with peers, sharing knowledge, and fostering a culture of learning.
