Senior Backend Engineer / Tech Lead (Data Management) (d/f/m)

As a Senior Backend Engineer you will build and scale data infrastructure and transactional services that power our SaaS platform. You will own projects from inception to production, lead technical initiatives, and collaborate closely with frontend, machine learning, and clinical teams.
Key responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain core services and libraries for our data-intensive platform
- Ensure high‑throughput, reliable access to medical imaging data for machine learning pipelines
- Lead initiatives to evaluate and integrate new technologies into the codebase
- Communicate with cross‑functional teams and conduct code reviews focused on readability, design, and performance
- Own projects from inception to completion while maintaining business context
Required qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in a relevant field, or equivalent experience
- 6+ years of software development in data‑intensive environments
- Strong background in Python and experience with GCP or AWS services
- Experience with container orchestration (preferably Kubernetes) and relational or NoSQL databases
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, code reviews, and quality standards
- Excellent communication skills and a self‑starter attitude
Preferred experience
- Leadership of technical initiatives with cross‑team impact
- Experience in regulated environments and data processing systems
- Team‑lead or engineering manager background
