Responsibilities

Define and drive the engineering strategy for our modern data platform, ensuring that architectural decisions align with business goals and future growth.
Drive the migration of our on‑premise MySQL data warehouse to a modern, cloud‑based platform on Microsoft Fabric.
Develop and maintain ETL/ELT processes using Python, SQL, and Fabric Data Pipelines.
Build and maintain data models in dbt, ensuring clean, versioned, and traceable transformations of raw data.
Create well‑structured data models across different layers to guarantee performance, quality, and transparency.
Collaborate with analysts to build semantic models that provide the foundation for Power BI reports and stakeholder self‑service analytics.
Integrate new data sources and document interfaces to contribute to data governance and transparency.
Assess how new requirements impact our data structure within cross‑functional projects.
Share knowledge, promote transparency, and continuously improve our data platform through regular team updates.

Qualifications & Experience

Several years of experience in data engineering and data warehousing, ideally in cloud environments.
Strong command of SQL and Python for building efficient data pipelines.
Deep understanding of modern data architectures and the ability to design sustainable solutions.
Experience or first‑hand knowledge of Microsoft Fabric or related Azure.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and GitHub Actions is a plus.
Structured, self‑reliant approach to manage complex projects and move them forward efficiently.
Excellent communication skills, team spirit, and openness to share knowledge.
Fluency in English (C1). German is an advantage but not mandatory.
Additional experience with modern data stack technologies and scalable cloud architectures completes the profile.
