Role Overview

The Utilities Coordinator (CSA Bias) will play a pivotal role during the design and pre-construction phase of a major data centre project in Berlin. This position focuses on early planning, coordination, and integration of all external utility services with the developing CSA design.

The successful candidate will work closely with design consultants, client stakeholders, utility providers, and internal engineering teams to ensure all utilities are fully scoped, accurately designed, and aligned with permitting and programme requirements prior to construction.

This role is ideal for someone with strong experience in utility infrastructure planning, CSA design coordination, and early-stage project delivery within data centres or other mission-critical facilities.

Responsibilities

Coordinate the full suite of utilities in the design phase, including electrical supply, water, wastewater, stormwater, gas, telecoms, district heating/cooling, and temporary construction utilities.
Develop utilities scoping documents, basis-of-design inputs, and design stage reports.
Work with engineering consultants to ensure accurate modelling of utility routes, load requirements, easements, and connection points.
Review and inform CSA layouts, including site levels, drainage design, duct bank routing, external works, and building penetrations.
Ensure the utilities strategy is fully integrated into civil, structural, and architectural design packages.
Identify design clashes, constructability issues, or interface risks early, and drive resolutions with the design team.
Engage with relevant German authorities and Berlin-based utility providers (e.g., Stromnetz Berlin, Berliner Wasserbetriebe, Vattenfall Wärme) to clarify requirements and connection processes.
Lead the preparation and submission of all permit applications and technical documentation required during design.
Track provider timelines, approvals, and deliverables to ensure alignment with project milestones.
