Senior Cloud Data Engineer - Data Platform (m/f/d) Job Details | MediaMarktSaturn Retail Group

Your Tasks

• Design, develop, and maintain Google Cloud infrastructure for large-scale analytics pipelines (ETL/ELT, reporting, data science)
• Configure and manage infrastructure as code using Terraform
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for analytics components and infrastructure
• Implement efficient data transformation workflows using Dataform and manage workflow dependencies
• Support product owners, BI experts, and data engineers in cloud engineering tasks and best practices
• Contribute to architecture decisions, ensuring scalability, reliability, and maintainability of cloud solutions

Your Profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or a comparable qualification
• Several years of professional experience in software engineering, data analytics, or business intelligence
• Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform, including BigQuery, Pub/Sub, Cloud Run and other core services
• Proficient in Terraform for infrastructure as code
• Strong programming skills in Python, Java; and SQL for data analytics and transformations
• Experience with Dataform or similar workflow orchestration tools
• Knowledge of data modeling techniques, e.g.: Star and snowflake schemas for analytical data warehouses; Normalization and denormalization strategies; Slowly Changing Dimensions (SCD Type 1/2) for historized datasets; Fact and dimension table design for large-scale analytics
• Familiarity with analytical best practices, e.g.: Ensuring data quality and consistency through validation and checks; Efficient ETL/ELT design and incremental data processing; Use of metrics definitions and business KPIs for accurate analytics
• Familiarity with Looker or other BI/reporting tools, including dashboard creation and LookML development
• Team-oriented, communicative, proactive, and solution-driven mindset
• Excellent English skills; German is a plus
• Agile mindset and experience working in cross-functional teams
