About This Opportunity

We are seeking an exceptional sales professional based in Germany to establish and develop DeepL's presence in the Austrian market from the ground up. This is a unique opportunity to build something meaningful in a market where we have minimal footprint. You will be the driving force behind our Austrian expansion, combining entrepreneurial spirit with deep market knowledge.

Your Responsibilities

  • Pioneer our Austrian market entry – present DeepL's market‑leading translation service to clients and help them eliminate language barriers.
  • Build from scratch – establish our sales foundation in Austria, creating processes, relationships, and market presence where little currently exists.
  • Become a market expert – develop deep knowledge of the Austrian business landscape, cultural nuances, and customer needs to position DeepL as the trusted solution.
  • Become an ambassador – serve as an expert on DeepL's products and your customers' needs, troubleshoot and rapidly resolve inquiries.
  • Drive the full sales cycle – qualify and convert leads, manage the entire sales cycle, and maintain relationships with new and incoming customers.
  • Exceed ambitious goals – strive to meet and surpass monthly activity, pipeline, and revenue goals as we establish our market presence.
  • Build a robust pipeline – develop new business, and pursue upselling and cross‑selling opportunities.
  • Manage high‑volume opportunities – respond to inbound prospects and customers, handling a high volume from qualification to close.
  • Track and forecast – forecast and track all opportunity and customer details including use cases, purchase timeframes, and next steps.
  • Collaborate across borders – work closely with our diverse, international and welcoming teams from SDR to Marketing, coordinating across borders.

  • Strong full‑cycle sales experience – proven track record in enterprise sales with complex, multi‑stakeholder deals.
  • SaaS expertise – experience in software sales, especially SaaS.
  • Exceptional communication skills – outstanding organisation, presentation, and communication skills in a multicultural context.
  • Adaptability and resilience – flourish in a fast‑paced, growth‑oriented environment, shifting priorities when needed.
  • Team player – supportive and collaborative with cross‑functional teams.
  • Language proficiency – fluent English and Austrian‑German.
  • Location – based in Germany with willingness to travel to Austria as needed.
