Job objective

The Data Analyst position in SSU is a unique, analytical and collaborative role. You are working at the forefront connecting the business departments with data and tech. Your challenging character transfers to your analysis and you do continuously challenge the business from an operational as well as managerial perspective. This is a trigger for innovation!

In this role, you are working closely with data engineers and data scientists as well as business owners. You post requests and translate requirements in both directions from business to data and vice versa. Your analysis will support the end user develop skills to learn from data and automation.

In this role, you are very flexible to move closer to the business or closer to the engineering part according to the business needs as well as your personal interest.

What you will be responsible for

• Create data assets which are properly authorized and leveraged group-wide.
• Managing users and user roles in the analytics platform.
• Improving and maintaining data quality.
• Defining requirements on data provisioning pipelines.
• Processing operational and confidential data according to our security guidelines.
• Creating reports, in-depth analysis as well as designing standalone analytics products.
• Identifying bottlenecks and recommending actions.
• Working in expert as well as cross-functional teams and challenge yourself and others.
• Building analytical tools to test and maintain quality of the data pipelines in order to achieve great usability, customer acquisition as well as operational efficiency.
• Building the foundation of ML / AI applications having the opportunity to participate in ML activities.
• Recognizing potentials and taking the chance to suggest data-driven solutions to the business.
• Contributing to the actual product development journey.
• Enabling the end user to adopt your product in daily business.

What we're looking for

• Hands-on, customer and quality-centric mentality.
• Ability to translate business requirements as well as technical requirements into non-technical, lay terms.
• Profound knowledge in methodologies of statistics and analytics.
• Profound knowledge of a variety of databases with advanced skills in SQL and related methodologies in relational and non-relational databases.
• Experienced and knowledgeable in handling extremely large datasets.
• Flexible and creative analysis in order to point out the true root cause or source.
• BSc / MSc in computer sciences, mathematics, natural sciences or similar.
• 5+ years experience working in data analysis or related fields.
• Very beneficial skills are:
• Experience in various analytics platform. (ie Tableau, Celonis)
• Experience in using relevant AWS services.
• Experience in workflow tools as well as the deployment of the pipelines.
• Strong skills in project management and communication as well as the ability to understand organizational relations.
