Senior Data Analyst - Grow & Engage
We are seeking an organised and self‑motivated Senior Data Analyst to work embedded in our Grow & Engage domain, one of our cross‑functional areas shaping the development of one of the world’s leading FinTech products. In this role, you will lead, mentor, and coach other analysts, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and causal, impact‑focused decision making across the team.
This is a hybrid role based in Barcelona or Berlin.
About the opportunity
As a Senior Data Analyst, you will enable our Product & Business Segments (Acquire, Memberships, and Engagement) in the Growth and Engage domain to make causally sound, evidence‑based decisions . You will be responsible for ensuring initiatives are evaluated using robust experimental and causal inference approaches , with a clear focus on incremental impact and counterfactual outcomes , rather than surface‑level metrics. You will establish a strong data mindset and foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement, working cross‑functionally with analysts, engineers, designers, and product managers.
In this role, you will:
- Help us set the right goals: Develop clear and measurable targets based on an initiatives’ scope.
- Be a strategic partner for Senior Leadership: Driving end‑to‑end high‑complexity analysis on a strategic level in which the business domain is critical to drive overall company success.
- Handle stakeholders: Be an internal go‑to‑person for your teams when it comes to data related questions.
- Evaluate initiatives: Support Product experimentation & testing initiatives; design test plans, obtain cross‑functional alignment, execute robust analysis, and deliver actionable insights. Share these learnings through clear documentation and concise, empathic communication.
- Contribute to self‑serve data platform: Help build the right analytics foundations by pairing up with technical peers, so our product and business teams can interact with data and extract the right insights themselves.
- Provide monitoring tools: Build the dashboards your team looks at every week to make sure they are impacting our company OKRs.
- Improve data literacy of organisation: Educate teams to become independent when it comes to data access and understanding function‑led training and team‑wide workshops to foster a data‑driven culture.
- Be part of our data‑community: Collaborate with a broad range of analytics teams at N26 to utilise shared platforms, insights and innovations.
- Lead, mentor, and coach other analysts , fostering a collaborative and growth‑oriented team environment.
- Support some of the following product & business team initiatives (not limited to):
- You support your team in discovery of new product ideas, identifying user friction points and business opportunities.
- Evaluate your teams’ continuous releases making sure they are delivering on business goals via experimental or observational methods.
- Collaborate with UX researchers to combine qualitative and quantitative research for better product hypotheses.
- During product development you make sure all data needed for future evaluation is being captured through setup of tracking events or as part of the backend service.
- Drive the quantitative analysis on your segment, being responsible for the insights and business discovery on the team.
What you need to be successful:
Background: 4+ years of relevant experience, ideally within the Product or Analytics field.
Skills:
- Advanced causal inference & incremental impact measurement: Strong experience applying causal inference techniques (e.g. uplift modeling, quasi‑experimental methods, counterfactual analysis) to measure true business impact beyond surface‑level metrics.
- Experimentation & evaluation at scale: Proven ability to design, execute, and evaluate experiments (A/B, multivariate) as well as observational analyses when experimentation is not feasible.
Strategic analytical problem‑solving: Ability to translate ambiguous business questions into robust analytical frameworks that inform product and growth strategy. - Analytics engineering & analysis: Highly proficient in SQL and Python/R for data analysis, experimentation analysis, and modeling.
- Data visualization & storytelling: Experience with modern BI tools (Tableau, Metabase, Looker, Superset, etc.) and strong capability to communicate insights clearly to senior stakeholders.
- Stakeholder & influence skills: Confident communicator with the ability to challenge assumptions, align cross‑functional teams, and drive data‑informed decisions.
