The role

As a Data Engineer in the Active Journey Alliance, you’ll build customer‑first, scalable solutions—such as our LLM‑powered Chatbot, Voicebot, Agent Copilot—to maximize retention. Your work directly supports millions of users across the globe, driving satisfaction and efficiency.

What You’ll Do

• Take ownership of the end‑to‑end process: architecture, design, development, deployment, and operations of data pipelines, applying DevOps practices, pair programming, and cutting‑edge methodologies.
• Collaborate as an active, solution‑oriented member of autonomous, cross‑functional agile teams (Product Owners, Back‑end Engineers, Front‑end Engineers, Product Analysts, Business Intelligence).
• Act as an ambassador for software solutions, offering support and mentorship to colleagues while demonstrating deep understanding of HelloFresh’s core product and architecture.
• Work with state‑of‑the‑art technologies such as AWS (EMR, Glue, S3), Kafka, PySpark, Kubernetes, Airflow, Prefect, Tecton, Databricks, and HelloFresh’s in‑house Data Pipeline tools.

What You’ll Bring

• Strong background in software engineering with clean, maintainable Python coding.
• Proficiency with cloud platforms and data technologies (PySpark, Kubernetes); Kafka knowledge a plus.
• Experience designing scalable data models and working with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL) and object stores (e.g., AWS S3).
• Track record building and optimizing efficient, reliable data pipelines.
• Commitment to data quality, monitoring practices, and high testing standards.
• Comfortable in agile environments, embracing fast iterations, lean principles, and continuous delivery.
• Collaborative team player who mentors others, stays curious, and is eager to learn and share new trends.
