Senior Data Scientist (m/f/d) Personalization

Join our Data Science team and make the magic happen. We drive business processes like pricing and many more with sophisticated algorithms. For this purpose, we design, develop, and maintain state of the art machine learning models and manifold optimization solvers as well as simulation models. Your work will enhance the experience of millions of our customers and have a direct impact on our business success.

Your role at SIXT

• You engage with technical, product, and business stakeholders to translate business problems into technical solutions
• You design, develop, and test personalization solutions focusing on sorting, filtering, and recommendations
• You create and refine forecasting models using time series and machine learning methods to capture customer preferences
• You formulate and solve complex optimization problems (linear, nonlinear, dynamic, stochastic) through personalization to maximize defined KPIs
• You stay updated on the latest research in personalization techniques but are not afraid to use classical solutions when relevant
• You work closely with product managers, MLOps engineers, and software developers to deploy end‑to‑end solutions and continuously improve models

Your skills matter

• Machine Learning & Forecasting – Proficient in modern ML techniques (regression, classification, causal inference, reinforcement learning)
• Personalization Expertise – Proven track record implementing or optimizing solutions for personalization of items or discounts (recommendation systems, ranking, sorting)
• Programming Skills – Expertise in Python for data analysis, modeling, and production deployment. Experience with version control (Git) and cloud technologies (preferably AWS)
• Analytical Mindset – Ability to translate complex business problems into actionable analytical tasks and clearly communicate findings to various audiences
• Stakeholder Interaction – Efficiently interact with stakeholders in business, product, software development engineering, and data science
• Communication – Fluent in English and appreciate cultural diversity
