Senior Development Director - Data Centres (DACH)

A well-capitalised, institutional-backed data centre platform is seeking a Development Director to lead origination and early-stage development across the DACH region, with a strong focus on Frankfurt.

This is not a delivery-led role. The mandate is firmly upstream - expanding and shaping pipeline through active site origination and early-stage strategy.

The Role You will be responsible for:

Originating new data centre development opportunities across Frankfurt and wider DACH

Identifying and evaluating greenfield and brownfield sites

Engaging directly with landowners, brokers and key stakeholders

Assessing planning, zoning and permitting risk at pre-site control stage

Shaping early power and grid connection strategy

Leading commercial feasibility analysis and development business cases

Managing projects from origination through to construction readiness

The position reports into EMEA leadership and begins as an individual contributor role, with significant autonomy and influence over capital deployment decisions.

Requirements

Demonstrable origination and land acquisition exposure

Strong knowledge of the Frankfurt market and broader DACH region

Experience engaging with utilities / grid operators within Germany

Commercially minded, with the ability to assess financial viability and development risk

Comfortable operating independently in a growth-focused environment
