Senior Electrical Engineer – Grid Integration

The Role

As a Senior Electrical Engineer (Grid Integration) , you will take technical ownership of connecting utility-scale PV and BESS projects to the German grid. You will lead electrical design work, engage directly with grid operators, and support project teams throughout development, engineering, and construction phases. You’ll also play a key mentorship role within the department, helping develop junior engineers and strengthening the company’s in-house expertise.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead grid connection studies, technical assessments, and application processes for large-scale PV & BESS projects
• Own the electrical design of utility-scale BESS systems, including specifications, schematics, and compliance documentation
• Act as primary technical interface with TSOs and DSOs, ensuring smooth grid integration
• Conduct load flow, short circuit, protection, and dynamic analyses (directly or through consultants)
• Provide senior-level input across development, engineering, and construction stagesSupport technical due diligence, risk assessment, and solution development
• Mentor junior engineers and help build internal processes and best practices

What We’re Looking For

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
• Several years of experience in grid integration, electrical design, or power systems engineering (renewables/BESS preferred)
• Strong understanding of German grid codes, standards, and connection requirements
• Experience working with TSOs/DSOs and managing technical interfaces
• Proficiency in power system modelling tools (e.g., DIgSILENT PowerFactory, PSCAD, PSS®E – a plus)
• Excellent communication, analytical, and leadership skills
• German and/or English proficiency (German strongly preferred)
