Qualifications / Skills

Minimum 5 years of experience leading or managing energy / building efficiency / renewable energy projects.
Deep understanding of building systems (HVAC, lighting, controls / automation), renewable energy technologies, energy modelling tools/software. Examples include EnergyPlus, HOMER.
Familiarity with regulatory frameworks & incentives in Germany/EU for energy efficiency, renewables, environmental / sustainability policies.
Strong analytical & data handling skills (collecting, processing, interpreting energy data) to identify savings / improvements.
Project management skills: planning, budgeting, working with contractors, scheduling, delivering on time.

Desired / Additional Attributes

Experience with energy storage systems (battery, etc.).
Experience with large commercial real estate properties.
Experience with environmental impact assessments, sustainability certifications (e.g. LEED, DGNB, BREEAM) could be a plus.
Ability to handle multiple projects at once.
A proactive, solution-oriented mindset.

Key Responsibilities

Analyse energy consumption data and usage patterns to identify inefficiencies and areas for optimisation.
Conduct energy audits / assessments for buildings in the portfolio; recommend improvements for efficiency.
Develop and implement strategies for reducing energy consumption and integrating renewable energy / energy storage technologies (solar, wind, etc.)
Perform cost-benefit analyses / ROI, payback period calculations, budgeting (capital & operational expenditure) for energy projects.
Monitor performance after implementation to ensure projected energy / cost savings are achieved.
Prepare reports, present findings to stakeholders / management.
Ensure that all energy-related projects comply with German and EU regulations, sustainability standards, environmental policies.
