Senior Engineering Technician

We, at Leggett & Platt Inc., are searching for a Senior Engineering Technician within our Product Development Engineering team to help support our Home Furniture Components business.

Our Home Furniture business brings an intense focus on the customer, innovation, world‑class manufacturing capabilities, and a global footprint together to create full package solutions for the industry. As a Senior Engineering Technician, you will have the opportunity to bring new product ideas to life through design support, prototyping, and validation activities. Your contributions will have a direct impact on the business by accelerating speed to market, ensuring product quality, and supporting innovation projects that shape the future of our Home Furniture Components portfolio. The team you will be working with is collaborative, innovative, and detail‑oriented, and values challenging work, craftsmanship, and diversity of thought.

So, what will you be doing as a Senior Engineering Technician?

  • Manufacture and assemble prototypes based on technical drawings
  • Support small‑scale production tasks
  • Operate and set up machines such as turning, milling, drilling, cutting
  • Skilled in sheet metal processing (e.g., embossing, bending)
  • Perform welding tasks
  • Independently implement adjustments and improvements
  • Collaborate with the development team to bring new concepts to life
  • Ensure quality, precision and strict adherence to safety standards

To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

  • Completed mechanical training (e.g., Industrial Mechanic, Toolmaker, Mechatronics Technician, or similar)
  • Several years of professional experience in workshop or manufacturing environments
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings confidently
  • Experience in operating machines (turning, milling, drilling, cutting)
  • Knowledge of sheet metal processing and welding techniques
  • Preferably experience with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks)
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety and compliance
  • Creativity and an innovative mindset
  • Team player with a proactive and independent work style
