Responsibilities

• Lead the monthly, quarterly and annual management reporting cycles for the Austrian and German legal entity ensuring full compliance to US GAAP and accounting policies and collaborating closely with the European Finance team in UK and the US Corporate.
• Lead the preparation of annual statutory accounts in accordance with Austrian GAAP (UGB) and German GAAP (HGB) and oversee accurate tax filings including VAT, Corporate income tax and withholding taxes.
• Maintain a strong control environment ensuring clean balance sheets, effective design and operation of controls and timely compliance with all deadlines.
• Support the FP&A team with forecasting and budgeting for both local entities and the wider European business.
• Act as the primary point of contact for external partners, auditors, and regulatory authorities, managing audit requests and fostering collaborations across functions.
• Lead, motivate and develop a high performing European finance team with strong collaboration with the US Corporate team.
• Champion a culture of continuous improvement, designing and implementing efficient standardised processes to enhance accuracy and effectiveness.

Aufgaben

• Erstellung der Jahresabschlüsse nach österreichischem UGB und deutschem HGB sowie Überwachung steuerlicher Meldungen (USt, Körperschaftsteuer, Quellensteuer)
• Sicherstellung eines starken internen Kontrollumfelds mit sauberen Bilanzen und fristgerechter Compliance
• Unterstützung der FP&A-Aktivitäten, insbesondere Forecasting und Budgetplanung
• Hauptansprechpartner:in für Wirtschaftsprüfer, externe Partner und Behörden
• Führung, Motivation und Weiterentwicklung eines leistungsstarken europäischen Finance-Teams
• Förderung einer Kultur der kontinuierlichen Verbesserung durch Standardisierung und Optimierung von Prozessen

Qualifications

• Basic accounting qualification for Austria and/or Germany. Accounting Qualification for Germany (z. Bsp. Handelsakademie Buchhaltung) Fundamental accounting qualification for Austria and/or Germany (Certified Accountant, CPA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent accounting qualification with minimum 5 years post qualification experience
• Comprehensive multi‑GAAP expertise, specifically Austrian (UGB) and German (HGB). Knowledge and experience of local taxation requirements preferable. US GAAP knowledge desirable.
• Fluent in German and English
• Proven track record in dynamic, global environments with strict compliance to deadlines and controls. Specific expertise in manufacturing and/or R&D and a strong focus on intercompany processes preferable
• Excellent communication skills, adept at engaging diverse internal and external stakeholders
• Advanced proficiency in finance systems and excel. Experience with Oracle financials preferred but not essential.
• Ability to work effectively in a remote‑based role for candidates located in Germany or Austria, with regular travel (approximately 35%) to Molecular Devices sites in Austria and the UK.

Ihr Profil

• Fundierte kaufmännische bzw. Buchhalterische Ausbildung für Deutschland und/oder Österreich (z. B. Bilanzbuchhalter:in, CPA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA oder vergleichbar) mit mindestens 5 Jahren relevanter Berufserfahrung
• Umfassende Kenntnisse in mehreren Rechnungslegungsstandards, insbesondere UGB und HGB; Kenntnisse im Steuerrecht von Vorteil; US‑GAAP wünschenswert
• Verhandlungssichere Deutsch‑ und Englischkenntnisse
• Erfahrung in internationalen, dynamischen Umfeldern mit hohen Compliance‑ und Terminanforderungen
• Idealerweise Erfahrung in Produktions‑ und/oder F&E‑nahen Organisationen sowie im Intercompany‑Umfeld
• Ausgeprägte Kommunikationsfähigkeit und Stakeholder‑Management‑Kompetenz

For this position the collective agreement for the electrical and electronics industry applies; the minimum monthly gross salary is €4,762.59 (based on full‑time employment), with willingness to pay more depending on qualifications and experience.
