Senior Financial Accountant Munich Germany E150,000 plus bonus

My client an international Private Equity house seeks a Senior Financial Accountant to manage complex financial reporting, tax compliance, and month-end closing, using IFRS and HGB. Key responsibilities include preparing statutory accounts, handling tax filings, ensuring internal controls, and often mentoring junior staff.

Candidates must speak German and English and be familiar with the German Dateav tax system.

Key Responsibilities

• Financial Reporting & Closing: Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual closing cycles (IFRS/HGB) for German entities.
• Tax Compliance: Prepare and review VAT returns, corporate income tax, and manage statutory audits.
• Balance Sheet Management: Perform complex reconciliations and ensure accuracy of balance sheet accounts.
• Process Improvement: Drive automation and optimize financial workflows.
• Stakeholder Interaction: Act as a key contact for auditors, tax advisors, and internal management.

Required Qualifications & Skills

Solid and progressive cv demonstrating accomplishments

• Education: University degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
• Experience: Proven experience as a Senior Accountant, preferably in a multinational environment
• Accounting Standards: Deep knowledge of IFRS and HGB/UGB.
• Languages: Fluency in both German and English.
• Technical Skills: Advanced MS Excel, and experience with ERP systems
