The Opportunity
This position is based in our Wetzlar site, the Abbott Vascular / Abbott Medical GmbH. We focus on helping people with diabetes manage their health with life‑changing products that provide accurate data to drive better‑informed decisions. We are revolutionizing the way people monitor their glucose levels with our new sensing technology.
In this role you will take ownership of key FP&A processes for DACH, providing advanced financial analysis and partnering with stakeholders to drive business decisions. You will also act as a subject‑matter expert for reporting tools and process improvements.
Your Tasks
- Prepare and analyze financial reports on Profit & Loss and key performance indicators (KPIs) for all DACH countries.
- Serve as a strategic finance partner to key stakeholders, including Division Managers Sales and Marketing, by supporting business cases, analyzing monthly trends, leading LBE planning sessions, and setting sales targets.
- Act as a subject‑matter expert for reporting tools and processes, leveraging Essbase, Excel, and Power BI while driving greater adoption of Power BI and introducing AI solutions (e.g., Microsoft Copilot) to enhance reporting efficiency and automation.
- Support the FP&A Manager and EMEA HQ team in consolidating and reviewing deliverables for LBE (Last Best Estimate) and MEC (Month‑End Close) cycles.
- Identify and implement process improvements to strengthen financial operations and optimize business performance across the DACH region.
Your Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline; ACCA, CPA, or CIMA membership is a strong asset.
- 6–10 years of progressive experience in finance, accounting, or audit in international companies or Big 5, ideally within an international or divisional structure.
- Strong understanding of divisional financial processes and their impact on overall business performance.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders across all levels of management.
- Advanced system proficiency, particularly in Excel and multi‑dimensional reporting/BI tools; experience with SAP HFM and Power BI is a plus.
- Fluency in German is required. Fluency in a second language and cross‑cultural/international experience are highly desirable.
