Senior Government Contracts & Compliance Manager

Job Description Summary

The Government Contracts and Compliance People Leader will be responsible for leading, developing, and motivating the government contracts and government business COE team. This role requires a deep understanding of government contracting regulations, compliance requirements, and people management principles. The ideal candidate will foster a culture of excellence, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive team performance to achieve organizational goals.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership and Development:

• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing government contracts team.
• Conduct performance evaluations, set goals, and provide constructive feedback to team members.
• Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment.

Regulatory Compliance:

• Ensure the team’s adherence to all federal, state, and local government contracting regulations and compliance requirements.
• Stay current with changes in government contracting laws and regulations and implement necessary changes within the team.

Strategic Planning:

• Develop and execute strategic plans to enhance the team’s efficiency and effectiveness.
• Identify areas for process improvement and implement solutions to streamline operations.

Policy Development:

• Create and maintain policies and procedures that ensure compliance with government contracts.
• Develop training programs to educate team members on compliance requirements and best practices.

Stakeholder Management:

• Serve as the primary point of contact for government agencies, clients, and internal stakeholders on contracts and compliance matters.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders to ensure successful contract execution and compliance.

Risk Management:

• Identify potential risks associated with government contracts and develop mitigation strategies.
• Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement.

Reporting and Documentation:

• Prepare and present regular reports on team performance, compliance status, and strategic initiatives to senior management.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of all contracts and compliance-related activities.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Law, Public Administration, or a related field and a minimum of 9 years of experience in government contracts and compliance or
• Master's Degree in Business, Law, Public Administration, or a related field and a minimum of 7 years of related professional work experience.
• Proven experience managing a team in a fast-paced, regulatory environment.

Skills:

• In‑depth knowledge of federal acquisition regulations (FAR) and other relevant government contracting laws (DEAR, CFR, DFARS).
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making abilities.
• Proficiency in contract management software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Desired Characteristics

• Experience working with regulatory and governmental agencies.

• Assesses potential impacts of regulatory landscape on business and customers.
• U.S. Federal Regulatory Experience is highly preferred.
• Strong business and financial acumen.
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills including facilitation.
• Ability to work effectively with senior executives.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Clear, credible communicator on technical issues.
• Strong program / project management skills.
• PC proficiency.

#LI‑Remote - This is a remote position. Application Deadline: For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $140,300.00 and $233,800.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
