Senior Inspector Structural & Coating (all genders)
We are looking for a passionate Senior Inspector for Structural & Coating– Offshore Station at our location in Batam, Indonesia. In this role you will contribute to quality assurance during fabrication of the topside and jacket construction in the fabrication yard, ensuring all documentation is delivered complete and of good quality.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for quality assurance of structural, welding quality, dimensional control, weight and coating during fabrication.
- Report hierarchically to Lead Yard Management and functionally to Site/Construction Manager.
- Manage issue tracking: monitor findings, develop mitigation measures, and follow up on rectification.
- Coordinate site structural, welding and coating inspectors to attend and witness inspections.
- Cooperate with Sub‑Project Lead Structural and certifying authorities for acceptance of structural execution.
- Collaborate with HVDC/platform project team, technical specialists, operations & maintenance personnel and the HSE Manager.
- Ensure project execution adheres to site manual, HSE goals, delivery schedule, contract specifications, procedures, methods, and quality assurance policies.
Qualifications
- Experienced international welding engineer with NACE II/III and Coating FROSIO level 3 certificates.
- Experience with stressed‑skin design of topsides.
- Familiarity with BSH, DNV, WSV regulations and EN‑ISO standards (EN‑1090, DIN‑18088‑13, ISO‑3834, ISO‑9606, ISO‑12944, VGB offshore).
- Years of experience on large steel construction projects on yards, preferably in senior inspector or supervisory role, with coating systems on large offshore projects.
- Fluent in English; additional languages (e.g., German) advantageous.
- Willingness to work and live abroad in a yard location (Batam, Indonesia) for a 4‑5 year project period and to travel to other fabrication facilities in Asia.
