To further strengthen our engineering team, we are looking for an experienced Senior Java Engineer (f/m/d) who wants to work across a variety of exciting domains: from our customer-facing e-commerce platform to logistics, warehouse management and internal systems. Your responsibility

Design, develop, and operate Java-based backend services that power our e-commerce and logistics platforms

Own features end-to-end from architecture to deployment and monitoring in AWS

Optimize our systems for performance, scalability and availability, especially in high-traffic situations like Black Friday

Work closely with cross-functional teams (Product, QA, DevOps) to deliver the best customer experience

Bring in your ideas to shape our technical landscape, challenge the status quo, and support our continuous improvement culture

Mentor junior engineers and help elevate engineering standards across the team

Job requirements

At least 5 years of hands-on backend development experience, ideally in Java (Spring Boot preferred)

Strong knowledge of cloud-native architectures and AWS services (e.g. ECS, Lambda, S3, RDS, DynamoDB)

Solid understanding of microservices, event-driven systems, and RESTful API design

Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure-as-Code (e.g. GitHub Actions, Terraform)

Strong sense of ownership and quality: you write clean, tested, maintainable code and think beyond just "getting it done"

Strong communication skills and a collaborative team spirit

Previous work in agile, cross-functional product teams

Fluent in English; German is a strong plus
