The head office for the DACH and EEC markets, covering 13 countries with more than 2.700 employees, is located in Düsseldorf and is the main location of around 500 employees.

As a senior legal counsel (m/f/x), you will provide high-quality legal support across various areas, contribute to cross-functional initiatives, and help ensure compliance and risk mitigation. The ideal candidate is a team player with excellent communication skills, strong business acumen, and the ability to work independently while contributing to a high-performing legal team.

A day in the life of a Senior Legal Counsel (m/f/x):

• You will provide legal advisory on commercial and distribution law matters, including contract law, trade law, antitrust, and competition law
• You will draft, review, and negotiate contracts, such as service, customer, and partnership agreements, as well as commercial lease agreements for national and international retail spaces
• You will review business processes and transactions and initiate measures to ensure compliance with applicable laws and internal policies
• You will provide legal support for interdisciplinary projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams across the business
• You will manage and monitor external legal advisors, both domestically and internationally, ensuring cost efficiency and quality of service
• You will collaborate closely with colleagues in Amsterdam and other EMEA regions to ensure consistent and aligned legal support across markets

What do we need from you? You have:

• Successfully completed first and second state examinations (German legal qualification), each with at least a “satisfactory” grade
• Initial professional experience in a similar position within an internationally operating company
• Fluent English skills, both written and spoken
• Strong proficiency in MS Office
• A solid understanding of business contexts and the ability to structure complex issues clearly
• Goal orientation, commitment, and a high level of initiative
• Intercultural competence
