Under the direction of the Director of Corporate Finance, this position is responsible for monthly/yearly financial book closing which includes various tax expenses and asset/liability entries. Performs accounts reconciliation, preparing various financial reports and related financial analysis. Supervises staffs in accounting and tax team and directs them in various general accounting/tax duties including reviewing/approving various key journal entries.
Main responsibilities includes:
· Prepare numerous high-level analyses that include various reserves and accruals like sales returns, stock revaluation, deferred tax assets, etc.
· Manage and directs the work of 6-10 accounting/tax staffs which includes some supervisors. Provides guidance and assistance in performing accounting duties. Reviews work to ensure adherence to accounting/tax operational procedures and SOX. Trains and develops skills of staff, reviews performance, and recommends salary increases. Recommends changes in staffing to meet changing business needs.
· Working with Corporate Finance in US and other countries, communicate about various finance & accounting issues and decide the solution.
· This position must update his/her knowledge of accounting standards for both US and Japan and Japanese tax laws as necessary and reflect this knowledge in his/her work. Also, develop and update the company policies and accounting procedures to ensure accurate consolidated accounting to be in compliance with the SOX.
