Senior Manager - Corporate Strategy (Business Segments) (f/m/x)

Do you want to drive strategy development and lead high-impact strategy projects at ZEISS? The Strategic Corporate Development department supports strategy development and strategy execution in the ZEISS businesses and at ZEISS group level. The experienced team brings in diverse perspectives from various industries and promotes a culture of creative exchange. With fresh ideas and innovative approaches, the team contributes to achieving the strategic goals of ZEISS and responding to the challenges of the future.

As a team, we advise top management on questions such as: Which new markets should ZEISS enter? How do we best design operating models? What is the strategic rationale behind our new acquisitions? We are looking for several Senior Managers to join our Corporate Strategy team. Each role will focus on a specific business segment. For this business segment, you will act as the main link between their senior management and business strategy and the ZEISS group strategy:

• ZEISS Consumer Markets (COM)
• ZEISS Photonics & Optics (PNO)

Your role: Maximizing value for the ZEISS group and your segment

• Independently scope and structure complex projects, setting the right priorities
• Lead strategic initiatives – often cross-functional and involving external partners – such as M&A strategies or identifying new business fields
• Collaborate with Executive Board members and business unit management to shape the strategic direction of the business and the ZEISS group
• Provide thought leadership on business and corporate strategy
• Contribute to driving the ZEISS group strategy process
• Ensure the business unit perspective is reflected in corporate strategy
• Engage stakeholders at all levels, including the Executive Board, and present clear recommendations

Your profile

• A degree with excellent grades in natural sciences, engineering, or business
• At least 5 years’ experience in top management consulting, corporate strategy, or similar fast-paced strategy roles leading project teams
• Experience in one of the following industries, and a combination of consulting and corporate experience are preferred: B2B high-tech manufacturing, B2B2C industries, or manufacturing companies with highly diversified offerings
• Strong problem-solving skills, results orientation, project management and communication skills
• Enjoy collaborating closely across organizational boundaries and working with interdisciplinary teams
• Fluency in English; proficiency in German is a plus
