Senior Network Engineer (m/f/d) in our Digital Workplace team helps shape the future of autonomous mobility.
Responsibilities
- Strategic ownership and end‑to‑end lifecycle management of network components, including firewalls, LAN/WLAN infrastructure, and Cisco Meraki systems from design and deployment to operation and replacement.
- Definition of service requirements, technical specifications, and procurement processes for network components; ensure seamless integration and documentation.
- Configuration, commissioning, and ongoing optimisation of high‑availability network services with a focus on performance, scalability, and security.
- Establish and oversee monitoring and support processes across Incident, Patch, Release, Change, and Problem Management in alignment with ITIL best practices.
- Manage and maintain physical copy stations in MOIA hubs used for secure upload of driving data to AWS.
- Lead and contribute to rollout projects for new sites and systems, including technical consulting, feasibility analysis, and implementation planning.
- Collaborate closely with AWS and IT operations teams to ensure seamless cloud‑on‑premises network integration.
- Coordinate with external vendors and internal stakeholders across multiple disciplines to deliver stable and secure network operations.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional experience as a Network Engineer or in a comparable role within complex enterprise or multi‑site environments.
- Deep expertise in Cisco Meraki, LAN/WLAN, and firewall technologies, with a strong grasp of network architecture, security, and performance optimisation.
- Hands‑on experience with AWS networking (VPC, VPN, routing, hybrid connectivity).
- Proficient in structured IT operations and IT service management (Incident, Change, Release Management; ITIL or similar frameworks).
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, across both technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Self‑driven and proactive, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
- Business fluent in German (C1) and English (C1), both written and spoken.
- Willingness to travel occasionally for site setups and hub projects.
Nice to have
- Cisco certification (CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent).
- Experience in automotive, manufacturing, or mobility environments.
