Stellenbeschreibung:
What To Expect
At Tesla Engineering Germany GmbH in Freiburg, we’re building the future of sustainable energy by developing innovative power electronics for energy storage and vehicle charging systems. Join our team to collaborate across different engineering areas, solve meaningful challenges creatively and transfer concepts from initial design, through prototyping and testing into real-world solutions.
This is an opportunity to own key projects, use modern tools, and work in state-of-the-art facilities to create technologies that shape how energy systems evolve. You get to work on advancing power electronics used for Tesla products globally, thereby directly contributing to the acceleration of the world's transition to sustainable energy.
What You'll Do
Design, implement, and validate control algorithms for power electronics systems, ensuring high performance and efficiency across a range of energy and automotive productsDevelop embedded software and firmware, primarily in C, for real-time control applications in AC/DC and DC/DC power convertersModel and simulate power converter dynamics to optimize control strategies using tools like MATLAB/Simulink and hardware-in-the-loop (HiL) systemsPerform hands-on testing, validation, and troubleshooting of control algorithms on hardware platformsCollaborate with cross-functional teams to define system requirements, select microcontrollers, and integrate control algorithms into firmware frameworksSupport manufacturing by developing test firmware and providing technical support for product assembly at both internal and external facilitiesAssist product deployment teams by tracking fleet performance, diagnosing behavioral issues, and providing firmware updates to enhance product features and reliability
What You'll Bring
Bachelor’s or higher degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field with a strong foundation in control theory and power electronicsAt least 2 years of experience in embedded systems development with real-time control applications, particularly in power electronicsProficiency in C programming and experience with microcontroller peripherals (ADC, DAC, PWM) and communication protocols (SPI, I2C, CAN)Strong knowledge of dynamic modeling and simulation for control system designHands-on experience with hardware testing, troubleshooting, and validationFamiliarity with safety and compliance standards for grid-connected power electronics is a plus
