SCMI GmbH, based in Düsseldorf, is the European energy trading hub of Sumitomo Corporation, one of Japan’s leading global trading firms. Our asset-backed trading desk connects Tokyo, London, and New York and focuses on integrating renewable and flexible energy assets into the European market.

We are hiring an experienced Senior Power Trading Analyst to strengthen our team and lead the development of trading strategies and algorithms.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze short-term electricity markets and develop optimization strategies

• Design and implement algorithms for intraday trading

• Monitor trading strategy performance and evaluate asset pricing

• Coordinate with international partners across Europe and Japan

• Track regulatory changes, technology trends, and market dynamics

Your Profile:

• Degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering or Computer Science

• 5+ years of experience in power trading, analytics or algo development

• Deep knowledge of the German power market (UK/EU is a plus)

• Fluent in English and German is a plus

• Analytical, proactive, and collaborative mindset
